Every since Rick Scott was elected Robert D. Allen 73 year old owner of Sportsman's Lodge in Eastpoint Florida has tried to contact him. Robert D. (Bob) Allen campaigned hard for the Governor. At his own expense he placed signs all over his different properties. " I believed and still do believe Rick Scott is the man for the job and I campaigned for him because I believed he would help Eastpoint and the Franklin County Seafood Workers" Allen said. "We have some real problems here in Eastpoint with the pollution and not just from the oil spill." Allen has worked for years to draw attention to the Eastpoint Waste Water Treatment Plant that has been dumping sewage in his "beloved" Indian Creek since the late 70's. "I just want Rick Scott to come down here like he did while he was running and smell this creek and listen to my story." said Allen. Allen has had a motel, marina, and RV business on Indian Creek for 37 years. A marine who served time in Korea he bought the land sight unseen in 1977 and came with his wife and two children from Arizona to basically turn a wilderness into a profitable business. While doing that Allen was mindful of two things: The sensitive environment of the Federally protected Estuary on Apalachicola East Bay and the hard working people of the Seafood Industry. It was this awareness that motivated him to refuse a 25 million dollar offer from land developers and sell the Southside of his property to the State of Florida. He wanted to assure the Seafood Workers wuld always have access to the Bay via Indian Creek. It is also this awareness that has kept him at odds with both County and State government. "You would not believe all they have done to me," Allen exclaims in clear amazement. Certainly the list of Government agencies actions against Allen is a long one. Investigation and public record has shown that County Organizations and officials have used the Florida Department of Environmental protection to try and close down Allen's business of 37 years.
Recently, a activist group  called the" Indian Creek Enforcers" formed an alliance to come to Allen's aid. Members of the group were already active environmentally and politically on the Gulf Coast because of the Oil Spill. " This is just the kind of issue we need to find out where the new Governor of Florida Rick Scott is going to stand on environment and regulation issues." said one representative. Supporters for the group span from Canada to as far away as Germany. Nancy Lazaryan came to the Gulf from Minnesota to stop what she terms as a "genocide' of people along the Gulf. She brought with her world famous scientist, John Hutchison to use Radio Frequencies to clean polluted Gulf waters. Lazaryan had her own Television show in Minnesota called "Line Dawn In The Sand." She recently did a segment interviewing a local county official which is set to air soon. She states that Low Frequency RF waves may be the only hope for pollution clean up. The technology has worked in the Dairy Industry and in DNA wave studies. Hutchison and Lazaryan in documented test have reduced pollutants in the waters of Indian Creek. The problem is the sewage just keeps flowing in.
The Indian Creek Enforcers compiled material from Lazaryan's interview and Bob Allen's plea to Governor Rick Scott and sent it to him by registered mail. They are awaiting an answer. They claim that if Scott neglects this they will go to whatever means necessary to bring attention to the pollution in Indian Creek and the Bay. " The State owns half of that creek now," said Allen, "they need to be concerned about what is coing down that hill for everyone's sake." In the meantime DEP has sent Allen a "Petition for Enforcement" to force him to demolish more of his restaurant. DEP would not communicate with me on the "Consent Order" that said I built over State Waters without a proper permit" Allen stated, " I tore down all I could and thought I had done enough, I guess they won't quit till they get this property." The push for the Consent Order came fro a local organization called the "Apalachicola Riverkeepers who were deply involved in the sale of the southside of the property. This group controls the north side for their own purposes and apparently want to force the sale of the Northside. All this information has been sent to Governor Scott. He has the ball and it will be very interesting to see what he does with it.
